Abstract

Since differences in ICT access exacerbate socioeconomic inequality, the digital divide is a global problem. The digital divide is a worldwide problem that is made worse by infrastructure, geography, and economic disparity.Eco-friendly communication technologies, such as solar-powered networks, energy-efficient 5G, and low-power IoT, can either bridge the gap by offering reliable, reasonably priced access or exacerbate inequality if adoption is uneven. This chapter explores the connection among green technology and digital accessibility, emphasizing how renewable energy-powered connectivity could improve access in underserved areas while lessening the negative environmental effects of digital growth.
